 Drefniadaeth Ysgolion Gwynedd - re-structuring of education

NewyddionThis is a bilingual message, the English text can be found Here

Y mae yna fforwm newydd wedi ei sefydlu yn annibynnol o unrhyw sefydliad ar gyfer rhannu gwybodaeth a mynychu barn am Drefniadaeth Ysgolion Gwynedd, hefyd gynorthwyo Cyngor Gwynedd gyda'r broses ymgynghori.

ysgol

Dywedodd Liz Saville -
"Mae gan Gyngor Gwynedd gynlluniau i newid sut mae ysgolion cynradd y sir yn cael eu cynnal. Prif amcan y sir ydi ffederaleiddio, sef sefyllfa lle bydd un pennaeth yn rheoli dwy neu fwy o ysgolion. Bydd hyn yn golygu cau ysgolion unigol a'u hail-agor fel safleoedd i ysgol ffederal newydd gydag un pennaeth ac un corff llywodraethol. Mae'r sir yn cynnal proses ymgynghori i drafod modelau posib (e.e. pa ysgolion fydd yn uno mewn ysgol ffederal ym mhob ardal).

Mewn rhai ardaloedd, mae pobl yn teimlo bod ffederaleiddio yn cynnig cyfle i gadw presenoldeb ysgol yn y pentref neu gymuned. Ond mewn ardaloedd eraill, mae pobl yn cwestiynu a oes angen newid y drefn bresennol."

"Bu cyfarfod ym Mhenygroes nos Iau 29 Mehefin 2006 i wyntyllu pryderon pobl o wahanol ardaloedd ar draws y sir. Roedd ofn bod yr awdurdod yn awyddus i osod trefn newydd unffurf ar draws Gwynedd. Cafwyd cytundeb ar gynnig i fynnu bod y cyngor yn ystyried anghenion gwahanol gymunedau yn unigol ac i beidio a gweithredu heb sel bendith y cymunedau hynny. Gofynnwyd hefyd am ymgynghoriaeth agored i bawb, rhieni a llywodraethwyr.

Mae'r wefan hon yn gyfle i ninnau, trigolion Gwynedd, godi cwestiynau a holi barn er mwyn cynnal trafodaeth ar sut orau i gynnal addysg gynradd o ansawdd at y dyfodol. Mae gwhaoddiad i gynghorwyr Gwynedd a swyddogion gwasanaethau addysg ymateb neu gyfrannu mewn fforwm agored."

======================================

A new forum (ysgol.co.uk)forum has been set up as an independent means of distributing information, voicing opinions and assisting Gwynedd councils stated aims of consulting with headmasters, school governors and parents on the proposed re-structuring of education in Gwynedd.

Liz Saville said -
"Cyngor Gwynedd is planning to change how the county's primary schools are run. The authority is proposing federalisation, where one headteacher manages two or more schools. This will mean closing individual schools and re-opening them as the sites of a new federal school with one headteacher and one governing body. The council is holding a consulation process to discuss possible models (i.e. which schools to form a federal school in every region).

In some areas, people feel that federalisation will offer an opportunity to keep schools in the village or community. But in other areas, people are questioning whether the present arrangements need changing.

A meeting was held in Penygroes on Thursday evening 29 June 2006 to discuss the concerns of people from across the county. It was feared that the authority was trying to impose a 'one-size-fits-all' model throughout Gwynedd. It was proposed that the council must consider the needs of different communities, and must not act without their consent.

Open consultation for all, parents and governors, was also demanded.

This website is an opportunity for us, Gwynedd residents, to raise questions and consult on opinions in order to discuss how best to maintain a high standard of primary education into the future. Gwynedd councillors and schools services officers are invited to respond or contribute in an open forum."
